We take a limited number of Welsh bookings each year and treat them as a proper commitment: we travel down the day before, stay locally, and arrive at the venue early and rested. Cardiff is our longest regular journey by a considerable margin — roughly two hundred and five miles and the better part of four hours, down the M1 and M42, onto the M5 and across the M4.
A drive of that length changes how a booking works, and it is worth being straightforward about it. For a morning ceremony in Cardiff we will normally travel down the night before rather than attempt it on the day, because a four-hour drive starting at two in the morning is not how anyone should arrive at a wedding. That is factored into the quote, and it is why South Wales dates need booking well ahead.
The upside is that once we are there, we are there. South Wales bookings almost always cover the entire wedding party, and we are not watching the clock for a return journey while the groom is still being tied.
