Newport sits just off the M4 on the English side of Cardiff, which makes it marginally the shorter of our two South Wales runs — around a hundred and ninety-five miles and something over three hours.
As with Cardiff, a journey of that length means we normally travel down the night before a morning ceremony rather than driving through the small hours, and that is reflected in the quote rather than hidden in it. Newport and Cardiff bookings are often linked — families frequently have relatives across both, and where the timings allow we can cover the two in one trip, which works out considerably better than two separate journeys.
